The Annapurna Circuit has long been considered one of the finest walks in the Himalaya, and this eleven-day version keeps its very best stretch. You spend your days on the trail moving from the lower Marsyangdi Valley, over the legendary Thorong La Pass, and then down into the high desert around Muktinath. The route climbs from subtropical river gorges through pine forest, Tibetan influenced villages, and yak pasture before crossing the pass itself, one of the highest trekking routes on earth. Along the way, permits for the Annapurna Conservation Area are arranged in advance, so the only thing left to do each day is walk.
This trek takes you through an extraordinary range of landscapes and cultures in a short amount of time. You begin in lush green valleys where the air is warm and the terraced fields are full of life. As you gain altitude, the scenery shifts dramatically into dense rhododendron and pine forests, then into rugged alpine terrain. The crossing of Thorong La Pass at over 5,400 meters is the emotional and physical highlight of the journey, rewarded with panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. The descent into Muktinath feels like entering another world, with its high desert cliffs, ancient temples, and strong Tibetan Buddhist culture.
The Annapurna Circuit is not just a walk. It is a journey through living cultures, remote villages, and some of the most dramatic mountain scenery on the planet. You will pass prayer wheels, mani stones, and suspension bridges strung across deep gorges. You will meet local families in teahouses who have welcomed trekkers for generations. Every day brings a new landscape, a new village, and a new sense of wonder.
Best Time to Go: March to May brings blooming rhododendron and mild days. September to November offers the clearest mountain views of the year.
Permits: The Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) is required and arranged ahead of the trek. We handle all paperwork so you can focus on the walk.
Accommodation & Meals: Teahouses and guesthouses along the route, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner included on trekking days. Rooms are simple but comfortable, and the food is warm, filling, and locally prepared.
Difficulty: This is a moderate to challenging trek suitable for anyone with a good level of fitness and a sense of adventure. No technical climbing skills are needed, but you should be prepared for long walking days and high altitude.
Altitude: The route reaches over 5,400 meters at Thorong La Pass. We build in proper acclimatization days to help your body adjust safely.
Group Size: We keep groups small and personal so you get the attention and flexibility you deserve.
We have been running treks in the Annapurna region for years and know every turn of the trail.
